First painting
First I primed my canvas again with a thin layer of gesso, then I sketched out my composition using burnt sienna using basic shapes.
Next I sketched in the actual shapes, checking composition and proportion.
Then I blocked the shapes in local color. Color mixing is still quite challenging for me at this point. My palette is very disorganized and muddy.
Next I fixed the local color a bit more.
My teacher's drawing is much neater with cleaner colors at this point. Hopefully I can still come to a good finishing point though. (:
The third pic is hers.

Hello
I'm Abby! I'm a sophomore majoring in fine art. My twin sister is my best friend and I have two siberian huskies that I adore. I'm so excited about my journey to become an artist and create art that brings glory to God and points all creation to their Creator. I'm eager to learn and excited to get my BFA and MFA. I plan to to get my BFA from RSU and go on to TU for my masters in studio art.
My goal is to make a living as an artist and never let go of this God-given dream, and I know that as I grow closer to my Father, my dreams will only get bigger and closer to His awesome plan for my life.
I'm excited for this painting class and hopefully it'll will give me the skills I need to get my ideas on canvas!
